I’m Emma, the artist behind all the work you see here. I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio but currently reside in Pärnu, Estonia. I work with any medium that is put in front of me, however, I specialize in glass. As much as I love seeing the results of my work, the process of making is really why I am here. Discovering new materials and testing their limits is the true fun in art for me. The inspiration for my work derives from reflections on memories of my childhood, the relationships I see around me and emotions provoked by them. When I am not making and documenting my art, I am documenting my travels (@R_and_E_Go_Places). My husband and I do a lot of traveling and have a big love for camping and exploring the world. Although my travels may not have a direct relation to the inspiration of my artwork, they do give me the opportunity to clear my mind and change my focus. I am consistently on the search for residencies and teaching opportunities that will introduce me to new places around the world. In 2022 I received my master’s degree in Glass and Ceramic Art and Science from NOVA de Lisboa and Faculdade de Belas-Artes in Lisbon, Portugal. But sadly I was unable to stay and moved with my husband to Pärnu, Estonia, his home town. Here I have a home studio and am working mainly in small metals and ceramics, designing lines of dishware and jewelry. However, I have not lost my enthusiasm for glass and am continually researching and creating videos to teach and show the process of glass making.
